City staff will continue work with our  partners, citizens and businesses to realize the longer-term success of our community as articulated in the Community Plan. We will do this by advocating for community needs, compiling shared data and publishing the results of our collective efforts through progress reporting. The Community Plan page on Guelph.ca will continue to be updated and track our progress.

Using our Community Plan budget approved in 2018, in 2020 our scope of work will include:

  • Establish multi-stakeholder governance round table to identify topic areas where we need to work together more and agree how to measure and track community progress (using the World Council on Cities Data model and local data).
  • Enlist cross-sectoral support to advocate for community needs with other orders of government in a coordinated way.
  • Gain support from partners and stakeholders to align their work with Community Plan priorities.
  • Support innovative practice to tackle areas important to all stakeholders, but are more complex in nature (e.g. supporting the City’s Investment Strategy’s new innovative approach to emerging issues).
  • Connect City staff to community leaders, knowledge and data to better understand the community so they can create greater positive impact (e.g. Hosting the Driven by Data event that will bring community data and expertise to City Hall).
  • Facilitate improved sharing of engagement, survey and other community data across City departments.
