In the 2019 operating budget, we pro-rated the City of Guelph new FTEs that would not start until mid-year. Six positions identified in the GPS budget are slated to begin in September 2020. What is the budget impact of pro-rating those salaries and benefits for 2020?  Would GPS entertain doing so?

The 30.5 positions identified in the 2020 GPS Operating Budget have staggered starting dates and the wage and benefits have been prorated to accommodate the onboarding of these new positions. The amount of $2,159,500 for the new positions included in the 2020 budget is the prorated amount for the total operating costs based on these staggered start dates.
